First of all - I apologize writers "Tarzan English - me Tarzan, you Jane" ...but anyway I hope you will enjoy the logbook. Epilog Why toller? Our previous dog "Kamu" (=friend ;Belgium Sheepdog Tervueren) who lived as a name bind – everybody’s friend - He never learned to bark. But he had power. Okay to the point “Why Toller?”. Writers opinion is that the dog has to have power, has to be bright, learn easily (?), willing to learn, play – challenge his “master of house” .or “ lady of the house”. Finally when you see a toller , you have to admire its attitude. So in January 2006 we started to seek a Toller puppy To get one seems to be hard, but finally we were in the right place in the right time. On Sunday 26th of Feb 2006 Mirja T. informed us that Tytti had bred three puppies . Same time we had one toller male at the hook, but his breeder didn’t make the decision who will get the male puppy (supply and demand problem) – so when we realised the situation we phoned to Mirja T and said if it’s yes that we can have one male puppy and she accept us as an "toller owners"… And the rest is history. Where the name Föri came ? There is in Turku (a town in Finland) , in the river Aura, an ferry which goes toing and froing carrying people back and forth from otherside to otherside – almost like perpetual-motion machine . Because Föri MacGyver has born in Turku, he had to have name which connects him to Turku. The name Föri is one of the individual thinks in Turku. And then there was element : water – water is one of the tollers work areas! That’s why his name is Föri. 2.4.2006 Sunday - Finally we saw Föri at the first time. Almost whole family were in Turku - "man of the house and ladies" What can you say - puppies are wonderfull . It was worth of drivin' 250 miles - to turku and back. "A gang of three" seems to be busy execpt Föri. It seems that Föri was quessing that those folks are my new family in the near future.: First he looked sleepy new people and little by little started to accept them. Bertta and Lulu started immeditealy play with everybody. 9.4.2006 Sunday. Second time looking the puppies. During one week they were growing a lot. "a gang of 3" had quite different wellcome than week ago. Föri knew his name - has been doing that allready "long time". LuLu, Bertta and Föri played with visitors about hour - and immediatelly fell asleep same time. There is in "Pictures 2006" a movie of Föri MacGyver. Föri MacGyver will emigrate (what a word, emigrate -heh) to Kirkkonummi Kantvik 20th of Aplril 2006 - a long journey to a small dog. 22.4.2006 Saturday. Last Thursday we brought Föri from Turku to Kantvik . It allways seems feel horrible to separate puppies from mom. Föri-toller slept allmost whole journey from Turku to Kantvik in my daughters arms. If Thursday evening was wonderfull and thrilling dogs point of view - same it was for the family. Now old carpets are on the floor and lot of old newspapers are there too - sometimes I found new articles in old newspapers. Last night Föri done "numnber two" drops on the newspapers and in the morning "shit happens" - ou shit, I walk on it. By the way Föri knows "No" word very well - stops immediately biting, flowers are laid off and so on. 30.4.2006 Sunday. About one ane half week has went with the Föri. He's wonderful. Shoes are moved allready from place A to place B. At dinnertime Föri will come to eat like a flash - we have to just say : " Föri here" and same time two whistle - the wonder dog will run to eat. I have to take that to the video. Couple of neighbors dogs have visited to look him. First Föri avoid other dogs, but after few minutes he will play with them. 9.5.2006 Friday. It has been a little break since these pages have been updated. Webmaster has been busy otherwere. We have taken a lot of pictures of Föri - luckily they invented digicams. In the beginning of May hawk was chacing thrush. The thrush flew against wall and the hawk flew against window. The thrush died - the hawk was out like a light . It was Föris oppornity to train retrieving. Very slowly he smelled the bird - at the end he carried the dead thrush to me. He has also been motorboating - quite existing to him, at least föri slept well after that. Our sailing boat is waiting to have Föris visit. I wonder what he will think about that ? He is eating and growing........ 20.5.2006 Saturday - it´s raining. Föri got an inoculation against distemper and three more (I don´t know those English names).
Föri has put on weight couple kilos - now he is 9,2 kg. The puppy has mess around with other dogs a lot - all other dog are behaved well . Allways the game with other
dog is starting same way. First he is walking gingerly towards other dog and after while on-button is pushed and runnig and jumping starts. 18.6.2006 Sunday. On 10th of June Primo-dog was visisting and of course palying around courtyard. Föri got rest of inoculation against distemper and so on 15th of June and he had put on weight 3,5 kg in four weeks (total 12.75kg). His favorite place is childrens chairs, but unfortenately chairs are coming too small to him (look Pictures 2006). We has spend couple of nights in s/y Anrita . 17th of June we were sailing and Föri was calm - no hasling around. It seems that we will have an seadog. 23.6.2006 Friday , Midsummer Eve . Algsjölandet (an island) Föri has been teached to be on the sailingboat. I don't know enjoyed small dog the journey, but everything went fine. Föri got new friends Toller Eetu and Riikka . Föri played with Eetu quite different than with Riikka. By the way Riikka could control Föri by the look - Riikka's cold eye. 1.7.2006 Saturday - Tollers point of view "First you turn the boat so that Genua makes sound like you shoot the cannon - of course that has to be barked . Then when we are reached to new island Lill Krokan and I found white-tailed deers bones - nam - ups ! I can't have them even they smelled so nice - the masters voice said NO , Then I found elders nest - old one, but so much feathers - nam , but again I hear masters voice NO" Dogs life is not fun allways. 2.7.2006 Sunday,Tammisaari (town in Finland) . Huh is so warm 26 degrees C. Föri swimmed first time and he has become aware of birds - feathers are nice to carry.. 4.7.2006 Thuesday Algsjölandet - heat continues - Föri swimmed a lot ... 12.7.2006 Wednesday, On the way to Hanko (town in Finland). Wind is hard, SW 14m/sec , Waves were 2 meters high. Föri was seasick - I believe. Luckily boat went up and down very little time. In Hanko we saw toller Rudi 3 v. (hope I remember name right). By the way Föri met also pike-perch, which ended to lunch table... 26.8.2006 Summer is allmost over. Our family was going in the begining of August to the Toller Show in City of Kuopio, but destiny has desided otherwise - our 15-years old daughter was car vs. moped crash just one before we had to go. One night we spend in the hospital wirh her fractured feet (not so bad). And so Föri didn't travel to Toller Show. 16th of August Föri started act like male dog - he started to raise leg to mark the places. Föri also started obedience training - by the way ofcourse we have trained him enough and he is learning fast. I - the webmaster - hope to have time to more pictures in the website soon. 12.1.2007 The Fall went by without updating web-pages, but it doesn't mean nothing has happened. We joined to K Dog Club Of Kirkkonummi ( Kirkkonummen Kennelkerho aka KKK) and started obedience training, yes - this Ferthy Toller learns things so easily. We have been in couple of dog shows too, but writer - the webmaster don't understand so much dog show business - so I don't write it. Couple times Föri MacGyver has been thinking to be an courser - brown hares have been running fast - maybe he has thought they are "harepheasants". And two times we have met wild reindeer in the forest - but Föri was intrested of droppings ...yak..yak and what our Ferthy Toller aka Föri MacGyver has been doing ?? .. Xmas time he ate in secret nine (9) Xmastarts and what was the expression Föris face..sorry but it was so good. So no harm done 21 was left...and the Xmas day he ate my (webmasters) ham sandwich from table - so sneaky secret way. Wise dog :) .I was suprised where my sandwich vanished. It was easily found out, new sandwich and little hide and seek and the when Föri was taking again it - huge shout "NOOOOOO" and that was that. No more stealing my sandwiches. The New year and fireworks - went fine. Föris girlfriend Riikka (Lapinkoira, Shepard dog of Lappland?) was visiting us . Dogs had so much fun and they didn't regonize fireworks at all. 21.1.2007 Föri got a new toy about week ago - and he love it. Look pictures. The toy itself is just an furball with a sound like a duck. And our toller is grazy after it - there is lot of various sounds what our toller can do when he wants to play with furball - lets have a furball..... 9.6.2007 O dear or hi there .... half a year has went without writing a single page. But what would be nicer to sit an the porch and write and enjoy summer. Föri's 1 birthday celebrated in Aura (place near Turku, old capital of Finland) in house of Bertta. There was whole the gang of 3 and parents. Oh God what happen when u put lot of tollers together - pictures show it. What else has happen ?? We have lot of wild reindeer in near forrest. ( these are not same as santa has - smaller). And Föri has probably been hound dog in previous life, 'cause he is chasing them many times. He is not so persistent - why ? - cause he just away about 5 minutes and the he will come back. On May 07 - he has been chasing wild reindeers at least 3 times. Is toller a watchdog ? Our is . He barks from patio all dogs passing by our house. Definetly there has to have one dog with people passing by - if there is no reason to bark. We had on late May thunderstorms and Föri wasn't afraid at all - thunder and lightning was really heavy but he just slept. Yesterday I was fishing with him and he was wondering again Pike-Perch swimming in a bucket. 1.7.2007 Hemppa-daddy and Bertta-sister came to visit "Corner Bay" . Corner Bay free translation of Kantvik. 26.8.2007 Summer holiday went fast - as usually. Föris route went through Vuosnainen - Uusikaupunki - Saviletto - Velkuanmaa - Näsby,Houtskär - Airisto - Keijsarfladan, Högsårå - Hanko - Tammisaarii - Kantvik - Lilla Hällsö - Kantvik - Stora Träskö - Bylandet - Espoo. Every harbour he got new friends humans and dogs. During this summer he learned even dive. Las summer we met Eetu toller in Elisaari - now we met him in Bylandet. Unfortenately they both are males and in approx. same age - it was mmmrrrrrrrrr... life of dog is sometimes so... We didn't get to Turku to sail accross river Aura by ferry named Föri. Riikka dog visit instead there. 1.9.2007 Webmaster started to add text in the picture pages and work continues.. 2.9.2007 The Toy Story: On summer vacation in town Uusikaupunki we went to a pet shop to buy a toy to Föri. He had oppornity to choose the toy. When Föri found soft lejon toy which make noices like duck. He was so keen - so keen he jumped against saleslady just to show how happy he was. Tail was moving loke helicoters rotor. Föri carried the "Lejon with ducks voice" to the boat. Rest of the vacations wer splashings and duck voices..... 1.2.2008 Old year went by and new started. Fireworks went up but our out toller didn't notice them. And of course Xmas went by week earlier, but we were much more clever - .no temptation to MacGyver at all. During fall Föri has been jogging with webmaster - without leash. 3.2.2008 We spent birthday of Lulu, Bertta and Föri Lulun, Bertan ja Förin little too early in Kauniainen (town in Finland) at Lulu's place. Mother Tytti was there too. We were lucky - we had beautiful day, little frost - no mud at all. By the way first winter ever in Southern Finland without snow - global warming is on the way. 5 5.4.2008 Bertta gave birth nine pups. Our family has been thinking a lot to have other Toller. When we heard Bertta's nine pups - we asked Mirja is there free male to us . And there was. Thursday 4th of April we drove to Turku to see puppies. Mirja proposed Kokki to us. I dont if the word vivid is right word in this case - but Mirja told he is vivid. Kokki chose us by the way - he climbed in my daughters arms. Kitimat Van Gogh - first name Koggi and it will be pronounced as Kokki. Koggi is a ship - Maybe long time ago one of those ships has been visited in Turku and sailed before Föri in river Aura. I will try to get more pictures a.s.a.p. 2.5.2008 Koggi came in the Kantviks on Friday 25th of April from Turku with my daughters and Föri. Koggi howled homesickness first ten minutes like breaking my heart - so this is dogs life. Very fast Koggi began to feel at home. And Föri has approved him very very very fine. And Föri is teaching manners to Koggi -little bit growling no and then when little needle claws are too much. Any way the 11 megabytes video clip in "pictures 2008" shows how Föri takes Koggi.... Now I have find time to update these pages more.... 26.12.2008 So summer went and Xmas came. Dogs are growing. And finally I found time to organize some pictures. Koggi is very easy when sailing - like his uncle. We went to Turku by boat to see Mirja and Maarit. But Mirja was in Sweden and Maarit and her family were travelling to Stockholm by Viking Line. Anyway Föri had his first trip by Föri. So summer was ok. not so much rain mainly sun and clouds. In Autunum we were in couple of dod shows. First in tollershow Espoo and then Lahti (2times) and Helsinki International Dog Show Winner 2008. Koggi succeeded quite well . Helsinki Winner 2008 he got JuniorWinner 2008.
2.1.2009 the old year said good-bye and sky was filled up with fireworks. Koggi and Föri did'nt mind at all. Föri was lookind out of window and was wondering fireworks flashing. 3.1.2009 Riika and Liina (both are female dogs) came to stay at night. We had spend sometime by boating last summer with them. I suppose those or these dogs have somekind of mark in their heads about each other. Riikka, Liina, Föri and Koggi were so calm - they were sleeping allmost all the time when they were indoors. And we adults had good time - food and wine. 25.2.2009 Oh God - mans' best friends birthday was almost forgotten. But we lucky to have mail fron Turku today - and situation was saved. 28.2.2009 Kokki will be one year old or young....
